about

Ana Sério (born in Oeiras, 1976) lives and works in Carcavelos. She graduated in Fine Arts/Painting from the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon in 2000. That same year, she received the João Barata Prize, which led to her debut solo exhibition, Vivências (Experiences), at the Barata Gallery. Since then, she has showcased her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions.

In 2000–2001, she continued her studies in England, earning a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Norwich University of the Arts. Her time at Norwich was supported by scholarships from the City of Lisbon Foundation and the university itself. In 2002, she took part in the Estoril Contemporary Art Fair, where she was awarded the Artur Bual Prize (1st Prize). Throughout her career, she has also designed and completed two public art installations.

Ana is currently a PhD candidate in Fine Arts/Painting at the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon.  Her works are included in various notable collections, such as the Torres Vedras Municipal Council, Municipality of Montijo Collection, the CINVESTE Collection, the City of Lisbon Foundation, the University of Lisbon Law School, the D.
